Clara Castelló

Programme Manager and Impact Lead Clima, contaminación atmosférica, naturaleza y salud urbana

Clara Castelló holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), a master’s degree in Human Biology from the University of Copenhagen (KU), and a second master’s degree in Environmental Sustainability (UAB), specialised in Global Change. Her early career combined laboratory training at Imperial College London and Structural Biology training at KU.

She worked at the Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBELL), managing institutional databases and supporting Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) initiatives. She later joined the Cancer Epidemiology Research Programme at the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO) as a Project Manager, coordinating the International Papillomavirus Conference 2020 as well as several research projects. She subsequently worked as Project Manager at Savana, a health-tech start-up developing artificial intelligence solutions for Real World Evidence studies based on electronic health records.

Clara joined ISGlobal in 2023. She has worked as Project Manager for the GOLIAT and UBDPolicy Horizon Europe coordinated projects and as stakeholder engagement specialist, coordinating environmental pollution case studies; stakeholder engagement activities (including the organisation of workshops and focus groups with policy makers, NGOs and local civil society); and leading communication and dissemination actions at local and EU level, including the development and dissemination of policy briefs.

She is currently the Programme Manager and Impact Lead for the Climate, Air Pollution, Nature and Urban Health programme at ISGlobal, promoting research synergies, translating scientific evidence into actionable knowledge, and identifying projects with high potential for societal impact.
