ESAIRE promotes participatory design of Internet platforms and mobile applications for sharing air quality data and related health risks. Its goal is to help citizen science projects (like CITI-SENSE) by engaging stakeholders and people from the general public in the process of deciding and designing the tools for air quality monitoring. Participants collaboratively contribute to make technology easier to use and air pollution information understandable and useful for the general public.

The researchers organize participatory workshops open to the public to study the information needs of different interested groups (educators, activists, public health professionals, etc.) and to evaluate, from a user perspective, Internet platforms and mobile applications providing air quality information.
