Luisa Arroyave

Luisa Arroyave is a Postdoctoral Researcher at ISGlobal in Anna Roca’s group. She is a health information systems professional and epidemiologist with experience in data management, quantitative analysis, and health inequalities research. Her expertise includes the analysis of large population-based surveys and observational studies from multiple countries, with a strong interest in applying epidemiological methods to address health disparities and improve public health decision-making.

She holds a degree in Health Information Systems and a Master’s degree in Epidemiology from the University of Antioquia, Colombia, and a PhD in Epidemiology from the Federal University of Pelotas, Brazil, where she conducted her doctoral training at the International Center for Equity in Health (ICEH). She subsequently completed postdoctoral fellowships at ICEH and at the National Collaborating Centre for Infectious Diseases, University of Manitoba, Canada.

Her research focuses on infectious diseases, maternal and child health, immunization, neonatal mortality, women’s empowerment, health equity, and global health. Throughout her career, she has collaborated on projects for the World Health Organization, UNICEF, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, AlignMNH, Countdown 2030, and Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance.

At ISGlobal, her work focuses on epidemiological research on infectious diseases, immunization, and health equity, with a particular interest in vulnerable populations. Her activities include contributing to the design and implementation of research projects, the analysis of large-scale health datasets, and the generation of evidence to support public health policies and interventions.
