Aline Abou

Investigadora postdoctoral Medio ambiente y salud a lo largo de la vida

Aline Abou holds a PhD in Epidemiology, with a strong academic background in the Developmental Origins of Health and Disease (DOHaD) framework. Her research has focused on understanding how exposures during critical periods of development, particularly during pregnancy and early life, influence child development and health outcomes.

Professionally, she has worked extensively with two major French birth cohorts, the EDEN Cohort and the ELFE Cohort. Her work in these cohorts investigated polyunsaturated fatty acid exposure during the perinatal period and its associations with child neurodevelopment, growth, and cardiometabolic health. Through this research, she gained expertise in nutritional epidemiology, biomarker-based exposure assessment, and longitudinal cohort analyses.

She is currently a postdoctoral researcher working on a National Institutes of Health (NIH)-funded project led by Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York, examining the relationship between early-life environmental exposure mixtures and biological age acceleration in children and adolescents. This project relies on advanced chemical mixtures analyses and innovative multi-omics analytical frameworks, with integration of proteomics and other multi-omics markers from the HELIX cohort.
