Equipo ISGlobal

Giulia Pollarolo is a medical biotechnologist with a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from KU Leuven (2011) and a consolidated background in research management. After nearly 10 years of experience in the scientific coordination of a research laboratory at IRB Barcelona, in 2020, she joined ISGlobal to coordinate the first institutional Severo Ochoa excellence programme. She currently coordinates the implementation of ISGlobal’s second programme of excellence.

In 2024, she also took on the role of Liaison to the Director General of ISGlobal, supporting ISGlobal's strategic development and key institutional relations in alignment with the programme of excellence.

At the national and international level, she has coordinated the group of program managers for the SOMMa alliance (the alliance of the Spanish Severo Ochoa centres and Maria de Maetzu units of excellence) (2023-25), and served as an Associate National Ambassador for Spain for the HEurope RM ROADMAP Project (2023-25). She is also a member of CORMES (Coordination of Research Managers in Spain), representing SOMMa and promoting research management in Spain in line with European policies.
