Ana W. Torrens is a Brazilian public health specialist and epidemiologist with in-country and international experience, encompassing both Brazilian government agencies and field experience with MSF.

Ana has post-graduation in public health and master in epidemiology of infectious disease, with final tesis on “Effectiveness of a conditional cash transfer programme on TB cure rate: a retrospective cohort study in Brazil.”

Ana currently works with Vital Strategies as a Technical Advisor for CRVS Improvement and Data Impact Programmes in Mozambique. 

Ana is a PreDoctoral student at ISGlobal with the doctoral thesis: "Improving the quality of vital statistics for impact evaluation of public policies in Low and Middle-Income Countries" at the Univeristy of Barcelona  doctoral programme in Medicine and Translational Research.
