This workshop aims to foster collective action for responsible global health data sharing, moving from theory to real-world practice. Grounded in the 2026 BMJ Global Health paper, Collective action for responsible global health data sharing and use, the event addresses practical challenges in asymmetrical settings through an equity-centered lens.

Utilizing the "3E" framework (Equity, Ethics, and Efficiency), the workshop shifts the focus from data volume to the flow of benefits and decision-making authority for disadvantaged regions. It will promote synergy across research streams, discuss equitable innovative solutions regarding multidisciplinary data integration and the implementation of sovereign, federated data systems, and identify actionable steps to rectify historical power imbalances in data management, analysis and use.
