In 2014, the highly contagious Ebola virus spread from Guinea to across the region –killing 11,000 people– and the global and unprecedented outbreak took epic proportions when it reached the densely populated Liberian capital Monrovia, where over 4,800 people died as a result of the epidemic. In contrast to the poorly equipped and understaffed, medical workers then, medical services have improved since the 2014 in Liberia thanks to more medical training and equipment.

Alfredo Mayor and Guillermo Martínez, from ISGlobal, will tackle this issue in the open seminar "Strengthening Health Systems in Liberia after the 2014-16 Ebola Epidemics: Building a Critical Mass for Malaria Research".
