The Barcelona Institute for Global Health, ISGlobal, is the fruit of an innovative alliance between academic, government, and philanthropic institutions to contribute to the efforts undertaken by the international community to address the challenges in global health. ISGlobal is looking for an internship in the Outreach area to participate in a five-month project, the Parking Day Barcelona 2024.

Main duties and tasks

  • Co-coordinate the Barcelona Park(ing)Day 2024.
  • Organization of specific tasks in the framework of the Researchers Night in Catalonia.
  • Assistance with specific tasks in other projects of the Scientific Culture Unit and support in the generation of dissemination materials.
     

Requirements

  • Ability to develop scientific dissemination projects.
  • Proactivity.
  • Organisational skills. 
  • Good communication skills in English, Spanish and Catalan. 
     

Secondary tasks

  • Training and experience:
  • Degree and/or master's degree in communication, biological sciences, science or journalism.
  • Previous experience in outreach or participatory projects would be an asset.
     

Skills

  • Interest in scientific dissemination and citizen science projects.
  • Communicative skills with the general public.
  • Ability to translate complex information into a simple language.
  • Ability to propose innovative ideas.
  • Excellent writing skills.
     

Languages

  • Catalan, Spanish and English

Conditions

  • Duration : 6 months
  • Starting date : 1 st May 2024
  • Part time dedidation: 20 hours a week. 
  • Fellowship of 400 euros/month.

The interviews could be placed during the reception candidatures period.
 

SELECTION PROCESS:

The selection process is designed in two phases:
1- Interview phase of a technical nature, with the team that requires the incorporation. To assess the person's skills and CV.
2 - Meeting with HR with the finalist(s) to finish assessing the profile and discuss contractual and institutional issues.
If needed any technical test could be pass. A Psychological Competency Evaluation Test will be required for the structural or transversal positions.
In accordance with the OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for every vacancy at the beginning of the process. After reviewing the content of the applications, the panel will start the interviews, with at least one technical and one administrative interview. A profile questionnaire as well as a technical exercise may be required during the process.
