The Barcelona Institute for Global Health, ISGlobal, is the fruit of an innovative alliance between academic, government, and philanthropic institutions to contribute to the efforts undertaken by the international community to address the challenges in global health.
Chagas Disease is a parasitic disease considered a one of the 2020 neglected tropical diseases, most of which could be prevented or eliminated. Despite the great suffering and disability they cause, these diseases lack visibility and receive little attention because they only affect vulnerable populations that have little or no political voice. One example is Chagas disease, which we have been fighting for over a decade.
The ISGlobal team has been involved in research and training related to Chagas disease since 2002 and ISGlobal is currently working on an intervention strategy in Bolivia, the country most affected by this forgotten disease. 
ISGlobal is looking for part-time (50% ) coordinator for the Chagas Initiative. The coordinator will support the initiative to achieve its overall objectives encouraging translation  of science to society.



Main duties and tasks:

Coordinating activities in the Chagas Initiatives encouraging translation  of science to society:

  • Support the Director in the general management of the initiative including the planning and follow up of activities and results.
  • Coordination of the communication and advocacy activities lead by the initiative
  • Preparation of briefing documents and advocacy documents
  • Support  writing publications 
  • Prepare presentations of Chagas disease initiative
  • Support in the development of proposal for donors and follow up of granted proposals related with the initiative
  • Participation in the Coalition of Chagas activities related with the role of coordinator of initiative as ISGlobal member
  • Coordinate training activities and establish links with Training Area 
  • Support networking activities of the Chagas Initiatives


Training and experience:

More than 3 years of experience in managing international cooperation programs in health, with a significant relationship and communication with funders, local partners and key interlocutors.
Proven advocacy and communication capacity
Proven experience in project formulation and search for public-private funds
Field experience in Latin America will be valued.
