Carla Morales Ferré

Postdoctoral Fellow Viral and Bacterial Infections, Malaria

Carla Morales Ferré is a postdoctoral researcher focused on cellular immunity to SARS-CoV-2 infection and COVID vaccines at the Malaria Immunology Group headed by Carlota Dobaño and Gemma Moncunill.
She graduated in Biomedical Sciences at the Universitat de Barcelona. During her BSc thesis she studied the immunomodulatory effects of a probiotic in pregnant rats.
Afterwards, she obtained her master’s degree in Traslational Biomedical Research at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and Institut de Recerca de la Vall D’Hebron. Her MSc thesis was about the combined therapy using antigen-specific tolerogenic dendritic cells and interferon-B in experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis.
She obtained her PhD in Food Science and Nutrition studying the impact of bacterial and viral overload on the immune system of lactating rats and preventive role of a postbiotic in rotavirus-induced diarrhoea.
