Kate Whitfield

Sustainability Specialist

Kate focuses on sustainable operations in the academic sector. She studied decarbonization strategies with the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership and is a member of the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene Green Task Force. She is the founder of Zeroverse which provides online courses and other services on sustainability action in academic settings.

Kate has worked in academia for 20 years; her roles have spanned lab research, coordinating clinical research networks, and a global health alliance. She has 9 years of experience coordinating the Malaria Eradication Scientific Alliance, hosted at ISGlobal and funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. She is based in Japan.
