Elisa Sicuri: Health Economics Studies

The economist Elisa Sicuri is Assistant Research Professor at ISGlobal and works, among other studies, on cost-effectiveness analysis over health interventions, such as malaria in pregnancy or screening and treating people in risk of Chagas disease in non-endemic areas. As a result of this activity, we generate knowledge for policy makers in order, for them, to take decisions in global health.

The team of health economists at ISGlobal is composed by Elisa Sicuri (ISGlobal, University of Barcelona and Imperial College London), Sergio Alonso (PhD student at ISGlobal), Celine Aerts (Euroleish PhD student - Marie Curie International Training Network), Laia Cirera (Principal economist of the Mozambican Alliance Towards Elimination of Malaria), Joe Brew (TransGlobalHealth PhD Student), Scherif Olouyomi Adegnika (PhD student based in Gabon at the Centre de Recherches Médicales de Lambaréné) and Laetitia Duval (Postdoctoral researcher, Paaijmans Lab).

The team has been collaborating with several external institutions over the last ten years, in Europe, Africa, Latin America and Asia. The main collaboration is with the Manhiça Health Research Centre (CISM) and particularly with Khatia Munguambe (Senior Social Scientist at the CISM).
