Felipe Alves Rubio obtained an MSc and Ph.D. degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Campinas, Brazil. During his Ph.D., he developed a strong background in Mathematical Modeling of Infectious Diseases working on Malaria, Dengue, and other diseases.

Currently, he is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Health Impact Assessment at ISGlobal as mathematical modeller.

He is also a research collaborator from the Institute of Collective Health at the Federal University of Bahia, Brazil. He collaborates on the DSAIDS project investigating the effects of determinants of health on HIV/AIDS outcomes.
