What We Are Looking for

ISGlobal is seeking an advocacy expert/policy officer, who is interested in taking over and managing activities of the project  ENDING COVID 19 VARIANTS OF CONCERN THROUGH COHORT STUDIES: END-VOC. The overall project goal is to support the European and global response to the COVID-19 pandemic and Variants of Concern (VOC) through well characterised cohorts and linked with existing European and international initiatives. 
The main objective of the position is to transform evidence from COVID-19 pandemic and VOCs into regulatory and policy recommendations to strengthen international research preparedness, and associated networks, for future epidemics and pandemics through a policy-oriented assessment of various project outcomes. 

Training and experience /Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in management, public health, development studies, public policy, or related areas.
  • At least 3 years experience planning, managing and implementing advocacy projects

Specific Requirements

Excellent research and public-speaking skills, effective written and verbal communication skills; budgetary management skills; problem-solving, leadership, organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills; and advanced knowledge in computer applications. He/she must have initiative and be able to work effectively under pressure independently and with a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the correct carrying out of the project activities relating to the dissemination and advocacy package.
  • Analyse the project results and translate it in public policy recommendations / policy papers.  

Specific Duties

  • Map the main stakeholders of the project
  • Manage the dissemination and advocacy activities scheduled
  • Participate in the consortium working group and coordination meetings.
  • Organize public events and the final workshop
  • Brainstorming with team members at all stages of the project execution.
  • Supervising the work of outside consultants and suppliers; 
  • Setting up financial systems and overseeing project budgets; 
  • Writing, publishing and disseminating advocacy briefs

During the crisis caused by COVID19, standard working conditions will be adapted to sanitary requirements. 

Selection Process

The selection process is designed in two phases:
1- Interview phase of a technical nature, with the team that requires the incorporation. To assess the person's skills and CV.
2 - Meeting with HR with the finalist(s) to finish assessing the profile and discuss contractual and institutional issues.

If needed any technical test could be pass. A Psychological Competency Evaluation Test will be required for the structural or transversal positions.

In accordance with the OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for every vacancy at the beginning of the process. After reviewing the content of the applications, the panel will start the interviews, with at least one technical and one administrative interview. A profile questionnaire as well as a technical exercise may be required during the process.
