Joan Ballester, Assistant Research Professor at ISGlobal, will offer an open seminar on linkages between climate variability, predictability, impacts and services, on 28 June, at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of the University of Barcelona.

Dr Ballester's reasearch is focused on climate and health impacts, temperature-related mortality, wind-borne nature of Kawasaki Disease and El Niño-Southern Oscillation. He is currently working on the projects "Arctic Impact on Weather and Climate (Blue-Action)", "Pan-European Urban Climate Service (PUCS)" and "Acclimatization scenarios and early warning system of temperature-related mortality in Europe (ACCLIM)".
