What We Are Looking for

ISGlobal is looking for a motivated fieldwork technician to support the daily development of the project entitled ATHLETE (Advancing Tools for Human Early Lifecourse Exposome Research and Translation). ATHLETE project has received funding from H2020 (grant agreement 874583) and aims to implement the exposome in birth cohorts in order to study the effects of a wide range of community-level and individual-level environmental risk factors on mental, cardiometabolic, and respiratory health outcomes and associated biological pathways during the first 2 decades of life.

Main duties and tasks

The candidate will work on the field, visiting pregnant women at their homes and deploying devices to measure environmental variables such as air pollution and noise and collecting urine samples. These pregnant womem are volunteers from the new birth cohort BISC. The candidate will also work partially on a laboratory processing the urine samples collected. 

Training and experience

  • Graduate degree in the health sciences. 
  • Experience in carrying out fieldwork in epidemiological studies. Experience in exposure assessment will be positively valued 
  • Experience as laboratory technician.

  • Autonomous and able to self-manage with the participants
  • Working-hour flexibility
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Good communication skills with the participants of the study 
  • Be able to ride a motorcycle (motorcycle 50cc license)


  • Catalan, Spanish and English written and spoken. 


  • Duration: 6 weeks (extendable)
  • Starting date: 20st May 2020
  • Contract: Full time
