The Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) is a cutting-edge institute addressing global public health challenges through research, translation into policy and education. What We Are Looking for

ISGlobal is looking for a motivated project assistant for the RECETAS project. RECETAS (Re-imagining Environments for Connection and Engagement: Testing Actions for Social Prescribing in Natural Spaces) is funded under the EU Horizon 2020 research programme (grant agreement 945095)
Led by ISGlobal, RECETAS is exploring the potential of nature-based solutions as an alternative to pharmaceutical prescriptions by testing nature-based social prescribing and using existing green infrastructure, like parks, rooftops, and gardens, to promote social cohesion and address loneliness and health-related quality of life. One of its main goals will be to connect vulnerable populations with the broader community. The intervention will be evaluated, including the use of randomized controlled trials and cost effectiveness studies, to measure impact.  RECETAS will be implemented in 6 countries globally, and the consortium includes 13 members from Europe, Latin America and Australia. 

Key Responsibilities:

The Project Assistant will be responsible for supporting administrative and research management aspects of the RECETAS project. The Project Assistant will work closely with the Principal Investigator and the Project Manager as well as other consortium members to ensure successful execution of the project. This includes tasks related to the daily functioning of the Project Consortium, communication among members, meeting management and note-taking, scheduling of meetings and events, support in local and regional conferences, assisting partners with project reporting requirements, assisting in technical aspects like project website, project listserves, slack channels, and so forth. Additionally, the project assistant will help in the development of the REDCap data management system from setting up platform, assisting partners to acquire access credentials, and training partners on the use of REDCap. 

Training and experience /Qualifications

  • Previous experience in REDCap is strongly encouraged. 
  • Training in health or social sciences (i.e., health or social psychology, public health, epidemiology, biology, social work) is considered beneficial.
  • Quantitative skills in Stata, SAS, or other statistical software; Excel spreadsheets



Specific Duties

1.Project Management Activities:


  • Maintain communication between management team at ISGlobal and partners of RECETAS
  • Maintain meeting minutes and google drive with project documents
  • Schedule and track attendance of meetings among project members, including, but not limited to monthly steering committee meetings
  • Support slide development for conferences, registration and reimbursement activities for project personnel at ISGlobal

2.REDCap Design and Implementation:


  • Support the development of REDCap Database for the three clinical trials as part of RECETAS
  • Develop forms and other reporting templates
  • Support Project partners from Trial sites to register and use REDCap
  • Assist project personnel with all facets of REDCap

3.Research Support:

  • As needed and aligned with interests of Project Assistant, participate in local research tasks such as development of tools to measure nature exposure, participate in local co-creation sessions, help organize research meetings for Barcelona team, conduct surveys and interviews, process research data, conduct GIS analysis and so forth.

Language level

  • Fluency in spoken and written English is required. Knowledge of Spanish and/or French is desirable. 


  • Duration: 6 months (with option to extend)
  • Starting date: July 15, 2022
  • Contract: part time
During the crisis caused by COVID19, standard working conditions will be adapted to sanitary requirements.
