The Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) is a cutting-edge institute addressing global public health challenges through research, translation into policy and education. ISGlobal has a broad portfolio in communicable and non-communicable diseases including environmental and climate determinants, and applies a multidisciplinary scientific approach ranging from the molecular to the population level. What We Are Looking for

ISGlobal is looking for a motivated postdoctoral researcher to work on the INCHILDHEALTH project (Identifying Determinants for Indoor Air Quality and their Health Impact in Environments for Children: Measures to Improve Indoor Air Quality and Reduce Disease Burdens). INCHILDHEALTH has received funding from the European Commission (101056883) under the call HORIZON-HLTH-2021-ENVHLTH-02 “Indoor air quality and health”. The postdoctoral researcher will work on linking indoor air pollution exposure at schools and other environments with respiratory and cognitive health in children. In particular, the researcher will be in charge of designing and coordinating citizen science activities at schools to achieve the project goals.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design citizen science activities at schools to link indoor air pollution and health parameters
  • Coordinate the fieldwork of the citizen science part
  • Write manuscripts with the project results
  • Be involved in other scientific parts of the project

Training and experience /Qualifications

  • Experience in citizens science
  • Experience in environmental health
  • Experience in coordinating fieldwork, especially in studies involving schools.

Language level

  • Fluent in Catalan, Spanish and English

Conditions

  • Duration: 2 years  
  • Starting date: 01/06/2023
  • Contract: part-time
  • Salary Range: depending on the experience of the candidate

Selection Process

The selection process is designed in two phases:
1- Interview phase of a technical nature, with the team that requires the incorporation. To assess the person's skills and CV.
2 - Meeting with HR with the finalist(s) to finish assessing the profile and discuss contractual and institutional issues.

If needed any technical test could be pass. A Psychological Competency Evaluation Test will be required for the structural or transversal positions.

In accordance with the OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for every vacancy at the beginning of the process. After reviewing the content of the applications, the panel will start the interviews, with at least one technical and one administrative interview. A profile questionnaire as well as a technical exercise may be required during the process.
