Academic Year 2012-2013

The response to today's global health challenges requires professionals whose training includes and goes beyond health sciences, incorporating disciplines in the social sciences, economics and politics, among others.

ISGlobal's training centre works in close collaboration with CRESIB to respond to the developing educational needs of global health professionals at the postgraduate, Master and doctoral levels; it also offers intensive short courses and workshops.

This September 2012 we will launch two new Master's degree programmes. The ISGlobal-University of Barcelona Master of Global Health is designed for professionals from diverse disciplines who wish to develop their careers in global health. It offers solid training in public health, epidemiology and statistics within a multidisciplinary programme that includes the study of health economics, health systems and policies, international relations, and the major health challenges that face our globalised world. In addition, ISGlobal and CRESIB coordinate the international health track of the official university Master in Clinical Research for students who wish to develop scientific research careers.

In 2012-2013 our programme of intensive short courses will take on key topics such as clinical tropical medicine, imported diseases, arboviral diseases, the science of malaria eradication, maternal and neonatal health and global health policy.

At ISGlobal, our mission is to create a centre of educational excellence in global health that brings together professionals from many disciplines whose shared goal is a world in which everyone can enjoy health.  Our programme is built in collaboration with research partners in many countries and with other internationally recognised institutions of research and training in our field.
